The Pastoral Care Department had a very hectic schedule last term. The department organised a great range of activities and programs such as Sirius College Intercampus Friendship Soccer Tournament, after school weekly programs and Saturday programs.

During term 4, there are numerous implementations introduced impacting our current practice for Pastoral Care programs. Please read carefully and consider the following points to ensure your child can enjoy attending these programs for the remainder of 2019.

The PC subject will appear on your child’s Seqta timetable but will not be included in the school reports. Normal school procedures and policies such as Behaviour Management will continue to apply during these subjects.

Attendance - PC subject class lists were finalised by the end of the 2nd week of Term 4. No student will be allowed to join a PC subject after this. A message will be sent to parents if a student enrolled in a PC subject is absent from the subject in any of the weeks. PC subjects will run until the last day of Term 4 for students without any cancellation.

The secretary and a year level coordinator will remain at school during PC subjects.

Pick up - Parents will be required to pick up their child within 5 minutes of the ending of Period 9 (6.00pm). Early pick-ups will have to be resolved with the secretary. School staff will not be able to provide any assistance regarding the transportation of any student to/from Pastoral Care subjects and activities.

It is well known that the Pastoral Care department organises Term Holiday Camps, Year 9 students went to Philip Island and stayed 3 nights there and Year 7 and 8 students had daily camp in our school. Students had a variety of different activities and educational program during the camp. Therefore, we would like encourage our students to attend the following camps on term 4 Holiday.

In addition, Our Year 7-9 students will be having a soccer tournament with other Sirius College campuses on the 9th of November. Year 7-8 students are competing in our Campus whereas Year 9 students are heading to Ibrahim Dellal Campus. The tournament has been designed to bring the students from all Sirius College campuses to have a friendly soccer match and get them to bond with one another on such an occasion. The tournament will consist of a round robin tournament and finals to follow through. Later on, lunch will be provided to our students.

Finally, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time to discuss any matters regarding the programs and your son.

Sincerely,

Halis Ozyurek
